Perfect Pod Casting Interview - How to Conduct it?
It isn't easy to perform phone interviews; podcasting, though, adds a new layer of complexity. How so? Because the interviewer needs to listen to what the interviewed person has to say plus, check that the hardware and software are working correctly.
As you may imagine, performing podcast interviews isn't easy, but it is an art that can be mastered. The only thing that you need to know is some guidelines that can help you in your new endeavor.
What Is Podcasting Interview?
A podcasting interview is quite similar to a radio interview. A group of people get together and they talk about anything they want. For example, take Larry King. He invites one or more people and talks to them about a theme in particular. He may invite the CEO of a transnational or a famous actor.
Of course, Larry King can do that because he has decades making interviews. So, he is quite accustomed to changing themes, from paranormal activity to scientific method. That kind of ability isn't easily acquired. It requires a series of skills that, with time, can be developed.
However, how is that related to a podcast interview? Since you are interviewing one in the same manner as in radio or TV, you need to acquire those abilities. Although you may never make a profit out of your podcast, it is essential that you learn these skills in order to become successful. If not, you will disappear in the sea of podcasts.
Remember that only a small percentage of the world hears podcasts and that thousands of millions hear radio. Why? Podcasts require a computer and an internet connection, a luxury that only a few of us can enjoy. On the other hand, radio transmission is accessible by many people due to its cheapness.
Your market is a lot smaller than the market of radio or TV interviewers, and the competition is as strong as in them. So you need to be quite good in what you are doing in order to maintain yourself popular.
