What Are Podcast Audio Books?
You can download Podcast audio books from the internet and can play them on any device that can play MP3 files. While many audio books have been either on cassette or CD up till this time, they have now been promoted into MP3 files.
No hardware involved, no postage, and no breakage - of course you might lose the file, though. But the advantage of this is that you can get the book you want, and listen to it when you want.
More and more books are being put into podcast format, so that more people can get them. Already many of the classics are available. The best thing about books on podcast is that - whether you carry one book, or a hundred - they do not get any harder to carry! Nor do you have to worry about where you are going to put them. Another feature of some of these books on podcast sites is that you can listen to a sample of the book, before you buy. This will easily let you know if it is a book that you want to buy.

In addition to the many books that you can buy, you do not want to overlook the books that are offered for free. While most of these are older books that are in the public domain - they are the classics!
And if you have never heard a particular classic, go to one of the web sites that have free podcast books and download your share right away.You may also have stayed away from some books because of their size, too, but this can easily be handled by listening to it a little at a time - and the pace keeps on going, helping you to finish in a good time. Before you know it, you will have "read" through The Grapes of Wrath, and other such books.
The technology is new, and there is no telling just how popular podcasting will go - or how many free podcast books will ever be made. If you have your own iPod, or similar device, or an MP3 player, then you could be on your way to start learning about podcasting. You can also start getting your own podcast audio books - and you even have an opportunity to be making a little money on the side with your own podcast.
