Podcast And Future Plans
The future of podcasting is a technology that seems like it will make demands on other technologies to adapt to it. It already is popular enough that people are wondering about the future of radio. However, this seems to be speculation, simply because it is not yet that popular - though growing everyday.
Probably, what will happen is that radio will start producing pod casts from their regularly scheduled shows - as a test to see how the market will respond to it. Or, they may start offering condensed versions of their programming; or, better yet, expand their programming into specially prepared podcasts. So, the pod cast and future developments will soon be forth coming.
Some of the problems that have to be worked out is the technology used, and the forms that it can be received in. Currently it can be used to receive both audio and video files. Also text can be transmitted over it, too. Recently, even Amazon.com thought it was making enough of headway, that they began marketing their own brand of iPod.
Podcasting remains largely an independent development at this time, without any major syndication making much use of it. Part of the reason for this may be that they either are not sure what to do with it, or do not yet think that enough users are paying attention to it. Who knows?

Podcasting is definitely increasing at a rapid pace. With the idea behind it that an individual can get what they want, and be able to play it back when they are ready for it, the demand is great. Some are saying that they have never seen any idea or product increase so unexpectedly fast. There is a lot of room for a personal touch to what one listens to and when.
Still having a long way to go before it catches up with blogging, one certainly wonders if it ever will. However, one unique thing is that a new online service, called Odeo might be just the ticket to give it that kind of popularity. This website created and owned by the same person that made blogging what it is today! Need more to tell - at least we know that if anyone can do it - he can!
Although the future of podcasting remains unforeseen, you can be sure that there will be a future of advertising pod cast coming in their somewhere.
If that many people continue to become ready to receive pod casts, advertising will also be put in the messages - sooner or later.
