Pod Cast Downloads
While it is true that what makes pod casting special is that it allows interested listeners to subscribe and automatically receive new shows, without having to go to a specific site and download it from there, listeners need to first subscribe or download to wide variety of pod casts consisting of radio shows and audio programs.
These downloads can be listened to on the computer, or loaded on a MP3 player and be taken along by the listener.
If a listener wants to download a single pod cast, he or she selects it from a list at the pod cast site, clicks on the download link with the right mouse button and saves it to your computer. Then they may want to follow the player's import instructions to add the pod cast to their collection.
To automatically download pod casts, a listener needs to first download and install pod casting software. Once that software is downloaded and installed, the listener needs to subscribe to a pod cast series available at pod casting web sites, and add that pod cast feed. Free pod cast software available are iTunes, Quicktime and Windows Media Player. If them, the listener selects it from a list at the pod cast site, and simply copies and pastes its link address into your RSS reader or pod casting software.
The downloaded episodes can then be played, replayed, or archived as with any other computer file.
